Spring Fashion in Paris
With the blooming of flowers and the lengthening of days marking the arrival of a new season, Spring! But what are local Parisians wearing in these spring months? These are the top spring shoe trends I’ve been seeing while on the streets of Paris. First on the list are ballet flats. Comfort is essential to keep in mind when walking around in Paris. The cobblestone streets and winding passageways don’t make the best landscape for uncomfortable shoes. I’ve seen many ballet flats with delicate bows, metallic accents, and unexpected embellishments that add an exciting new take on the classic shoe.
Parisian espadrilles are another popular style being seen on the city streets.
These Historically French shoes are made from canvas and a cork-like material. They pair nicely with more spring-like dresses and pants. They are a more practical version of sandals, so it’s no surprise they are showing up this spring. Along with that, I have been seeing a lot of colorful, toned ankle boots. Whether tan leather or red or green, these platform-styled boots have been making a comeback. The style seems reminiscent of the 70s hippy look and is much more practical in the Parisien spring weather that can vary drastically.
In conclusion, spring shoe trends in Paris include several styles based on both practicality and sleek look. We see fewer platform and chunky styles and more sleek and flat looks, which is different from what we have seen in past seasons, which makes me think we might be moving into a more minimalistic trend.
